A new parking deck opens next week near Duke's Medical Center. It has "green features" including plants that will lessen the structure's ability to turn into a blazing stone pile all summer long.

Here is an up close shot of the vertically planted entrance arch. The evergreen groundcover looks like a pachysandra but without the toothy lobes and (hopefully) with more sun tolerance.
